Even tiny dust that cannot be seen with the naked eye can have adverse effects on bearings. So, it is important to keep the surroundings clean so that dust does not invade the bearings.


2. Use with caution and caution


Strong impact on bearings during use can cause scratches or indentations, leading to accidents. In severe cases, it can cause cracks and fractures, which must be taken seriously.


3. Use special tools for bearings


Special tools must be used and cannot be replaced arbitrarily.


4. Avoid bearing rust


When operating bearings, sweating can cause rust. Pay attention to operating with clean hands, wear gloves as much as possible, and pay attention to corrosive gases

I hope to open the bearing packaging again during installation. When using general grease lubrication, do not clean the bearings and directly fill them with lubricating grease. When lubricating with oil, it is generally not necessary to clean. However, for instruments or high-speed bearings, clean oil should be used to remove rust inhibitors applied to the bearings. Bearings that have been removed from rust inhibitors are prone to rusting, so they cannot be placed randomly.


Furthermore, bearings that have been sealed with lubricating grease can be used directly without cleaning. The installation method of bearings varies depending on the bearing structure, fit, and conditions. As most bearings rotate around the shaft, interference fit is required for the inner ring. Cylindrical hole bearings are often pressed in using a press or hot fitting method. In the case of a tapered hole, it can be directly fixed on the tapered shaft or installed with a locking sleeve.


When installing onto the bearing seat, clearance fit is often used. When there is interference on the outer ring, it is usually pressed in with a press or installed using a cold shrink method after cooling. When using dry ice as a coolant for cold shrink installation, moisture in the air will condense on the surface of the bearing. So rust prevention measures need to be taken.

Small bearings are widely pressed in by a press. Press the cushion block against the inner ring and slowly press it with a press until the end face of the inner ring is tightly against the shaft shoulder. Installing the inner ring with the outer ring against the cushion block may cause pressure marks or injuries on the raceway, so * * is prohibited.


Furthermore, during operation, oil should be applied to the mating surface in advance. In situations where a hammer is absolutely necessary for installation, a cushion block should be placed on the inner ring for operation. This approach repeatedly causes bearing damage, so it is only limited to situations with small interference and cannot be used for bearings with large interference or medium to large sizes.
