Deep groove ball bearing with seals or shields

Single row deep groove ball bearings with seals or shields are particularly versatile, have low friction and are optimized for low noise and low vibration, which enables high rotational speeds. They accommodate radial and axial loads in both directions, are easy to mount, and require less maintenance than many other bearing types. The integral sealing can significantly prolong bearing service life because it keeps lubricant in the bearings and contaminants out.Integral sea

Knowledge and introduction of bearings    :

A bearing extractor is a specialized tool used to remove bearings from rotating machine shafts or from blind bearing holes. These tools are essential in various industries, including automotive, aerospace, and manufacturing, where precise and efficient bearing removal is critical. Here's a detailed introduction to bearing extractors:

  1. Functionality:

    • Bearing extractors are designed to remove bearings without causing damage to the bearings or the surrounding components. They work by applying a controlled force to the bearing, either by pulling or pushing it off the shaft or out of the housing .

  2. Types of Bearing Extractors:

    • Bearing Splitter Plates: These are technically pushers that use wedges to push and pop bearings off the shaft. They consist of two half plates held together by screws, which, when tightened, apply upward thrust on the inner race of the bearing .

    • Two and Three Arm Bearing Pullers: These are the most common types of bearing extractors. They have arms with fingers that bend in to get behind the bearing's race. The center screw of the puller is torqued to push on the shaft, applying upward thrust to the bearing's race. These pullers can accommodate various bearing and shaft sizes due to interchangeable arms and fingers .

    • Internal Bearing Pullers: Designed for deep groove ball bearings and angular contact ball bearings, internal extractors are available in various sizes for bearing bores of up to approximately 70 mm. They work by spreading the gripping segments when the threaded spindle is tightened, pressing the lip of the jaws behind the bore of the bearing's inner ring .

  3. Operation:

    • Depending on the type and size of the bearing, the appropriate extractor is selected. The extractor's span can be adjusted to fit the bearing, and the arms are locked during the extraction process to prevent accidental opening. The bearing is extracted by applying force through the extractor's mechanism, which can be manual or hydraulic .

  4. Applications:

    • Bearing extractors are used in the maintenance and repair of rotating equipment, such as car transmissions, industrial machinery, and various mechanical assemblies where bearings need to be replaced or inspected .

  5. Safety and Efficiency:

    • Bearing extractors are made of tool grade steel, making them harder than the parts they are used on. They are usually hand-powered with a handle on the turn screw or a male hex end to match a drive socket. Some bearing extractors are hydraulically powered, using a hydraulically powered piston to press against the end of the shaft the bearing is on .

  6. Advantages:

    • Using a bearing extractor ensures that the bearing is removed without damage, which can extend the life of the bearing and the machinery. They also provide a safer method of removal compared to improvised tools or techniques that could potentially cause injury or further damage .

  7. SKF EasyPull:

    • SKF offers a range of mechanical EasyPull jaw pullers that are known for their user-friendly and safe operation. These pullers feature spring-operated mechanical arms and a reliable design, making them a popular choice in the industry. They are available in different sizes to accommodate various bearing dimensions and applications .

In summary, bearing extractors are indispensable tools in the field of mechanical maintenance and repair, providing a safe, efficient, and controlled method for removing bearings from various components.
