Deep groove ball bearing with seals or shields

Single row deep groove ball bearings with seals or shields are particularly versatile, have low friction and are optimized for low noise and low vibration, which enables high rotational speeds. They accommodate radial and axial loads in both directions, are easy to mount, and require less maintenance than many other bearing types. The integral sealing can significantly prolong bearing service life because it keeps lubricant in the bearings and contaminants out.Integral sea

Knowledge and introduction of bearings    :

An induction bearing heater is a device used to heat bearings for easy installation onto a shaft, particularly when the bearing is fitted with an interference fit. Here's a detailed introduction to induction bearing heaters:

  1. Working Principle:

    • Induction bearing heaters operate on the principle of electromagnetic induction. A work-coil acts like the primary of a transformer, generating an alternating magnetic field. The workpiece (bearing) acts like a single-turn shorted secondary, and eddy currents flow within the workpiece. The energy dissipation for heating occurs through two mechanisms: Joule heating due to eddy currents induced in the conducting material placed in a changing magnetic field, and magnetic hysteresis loss in ferro-magnetic materials below Curie temperature.

  2. Advantages:

    • Induction bearing heaters provide a quiet, safe, and clean environment for heating. They require low maintenance and result in less scale loss compared to other heating methods.

  3. Design and Components:

    • The induction heater consists of a coil inductance matched by a capacitor at resonant frequency to give unity power factor and maximum heating power to the workpiece. The inverter controls the frequency, typically providing a square wave voltage and sine wave current due to load resonance.

  4. Applications:

    • These heaters are designed to heat rolling bearings, but they can also be used for other metalwork pieces that form a closed circuit, such as bushings, shrink rings, pulleys, and gears.

  5. Heating Process:

    • The SKF TIH 030m, for example, is designed to heat bearings mounted with an interference fit onto a shaft. The heat causes the bearing to expand, eliminating the need for force during installation. A temperature difference of 90°C between the bearing and shaft is generally sufficient for installation.

  6. Safety and Features:

    • Modern induction bearing heaters like the TIH 100m from SKF include features such as temperature control up to 250°C (482°F), demagnetization according to SKF norms, and various voltage options. They also ensure that the non-ferromagnetic parts and the heating device itself remain cold during the process.

  7. Efficiency and Productivity:

    • Induction bearing heaters improve productivity by extending the useful life of bearings and reducing the frequency of bearing maintenance, which means lower operating costs. They heat bearings evenly and quicker than hot plates, and some models allow for both vertical and horizontal heating, with horizontal heating being generally 3 to 4 times faster.

  8. Control and Monitoring:

    • Advanced models like the SBH SMART Series from BESSEY Tools offer digital time and temperature control, dual sensors, data storage, and export capabilities, allowing for precise control over the heating process and documentation of work.

In summary, induction bearing heaters are efficient, safe, and clean tools for heating bearings and other metal components, providing precise control over the heating process and improving overall productivity and safety in industrial applications.
